Aker Solutions fined for work-related fatality in 2022
August 14, 2024AUGUST 14, 2024: Aker Solutions has received a fine of NOK 600,000 from the Norwegian police, following the work-related fatality at the Egersund yard October 13, 2022. The accident occurred when a truck driver from a supplier was hit by heavy scaffolding parts during unloading. Aker Solutions will accept the fine.
“The fatal accident is a tragedy for many, especially the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased, and for all of us in Aker Solutions. Investigations have been conducted internally and by public authorities. At Aker Solutions, we have used these findings to further improve our working procedures. We will together with suppliers and other parties also continue to strengthen cooperation and coordination and set clear expectations to ensure the highest level of HSSE-performance”, says Sturla Magnus, Executive Vice President New Build in Aker Solutions.
